Asda FM
Asda FM became live on 7thh September 1991 and is operated
by Headland media in Leeds. Presenters
on the station include Nick Babb, Carl Kingston, Paul Carrington, Vicky Howe,
Steve Jordan and Dominic Walker. The Guardian recently said that Asda FM has a
captive audience of over 18 million listeners a week. The radio station is
played through Asda supermarkets, making Asda shoppers and staff the target
audience.
The purpose of
Asda FM is to make their customers more enjoyable because if they enjoy the
music they will shop there for longer increasing the amount they buy. This is a
clever way of Asda encouraging shoppers to spend more without it being obvious
to them.
